The Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center for Children and Families connects families, caregivers and friends of children with disabilities to resources, information and training. Resources specific to disabilities and conditions, as well as information on respite options, recreation, educational options and other day-to-day issues.

Seminars are available (you can download the calendar from the web-site). A lending library is also available, providing a wide range of information on childhood illnesses and conditions; as well as the care and parenting issues related to them. The information is available in many forms, including videos, audiotapes, periodicals, books, and staff-assisted computer searches.

Wiegand Foundation Library, within the Swindells Resource Center, provides information on a wide range of childhood illnesses and conditions, as well as the care and parenting issues related to them. The Swindells Center conducts training programs for families and caregivers of children with disabilities on a variety of topics. Topics include behavior and development, communication, future planning, nutrition, education, inclusion strategies and child advocacy. Our presenters include local experts in various medical and educational fields as well as national and internationally known advocates for children and families.
