July 2010 Cool Find of the Month

The “Cool Find” for July is focused on the outdoors.

First we explored the America the Beautiful Pass for the National Parks System.  There is a pass for people with disabilities that provides either free, or greatly discounted admittance to the park and amenities.

The pass is a lifetime pass and does not expire. To obtain a pass, you must apply in person. Bring documentation  with you to prove disability such as a statement from a doctor, a card from the VA, an SSDI or SSI card or payment stub, and so on.

Another idea we discussed is the plethora of activities that are available through your city or county park and recreation program. Many programs have activities such as movies in the park or pool and information.
