The transition to school age special education can be a confusing, stressful time for both the parents and the child in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), but it doesn’t have to be. Come to this transition workshop and find out what parents need to know about school age special education including:
• What laws govern special education
• Evaluations, re-evaluations and eligibility
• The components of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and how it is different from an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
• Tips for parents on helping their child make a smooth transition to kindergarten
• Procedural Safeguards.
