Disability Compass is growing!

There are many opportunities to be involved in providing useful, easy-to-understand tools to improve the quality of lives for people with disabilities, their families, and the communities they live in.

We've spent the last year re-tooling our site to meet the comments and requests of the community. We're very happy with where we are, thanks to the dedication of our programming partner, Zarega Software. We also thank you, our community, and the many service providers who use and depend on Compass for your patience and encouragement!

And now....we are poised to do more. 

We need your help.

We are ready to use web-based tools to bring training, information, and even community meetings to homes, offices, and schools...sometimes on demand!  During this time of budget cuts, family support, training, and coaching for quality lives is hard to find. We can bring this to Oregon families and support providers over the internet for a fraction of the cost of face-to-face events.

Here are the ways you can help us reach these goals.

• Sponsor a section of the website.
  The opportunities to build on the resources and information available are endless. Sponsor our Community Resources Search, the Personal Provider Search, or a new section for a specific content area such as home ownership or building inclusive communities.
  
• Sponsor a webinar.
  Webinars are real time meetings online. We've tested the tools for months and want to help communities connect with expert coaches on topics of interest. Your sponsorship can provide essential training and tangible help to families and support providers on topics such as Visual strategies for home, using iPod Apps to connect you to your community, supported living, creating Circle of Friends, sexuality Education Topics (for teens, adults, using microboards to manage a self-directed business, parents, and direct support providers), Person-centered health education and supports, positive behavior support, and more.
  
•  Sponsor an on-demand presentation.
  These presentations are available online 24/7. They are all inclusive presentations and trainings complete with handouts, presentation, email link for questions, evaluation, and a certificate of completion. Families and support providers who cannot get away during traditional training times can learn needed skills and how to create useful tools any time, anywhere, any day.
  
• Sponsor a multi-week course.
  Sponsor a class using a learning management system that allows skills to be taught in smaller chunks at a pace that fits the learner. Some topics will be less detailed than others. This method of learning can be as robust as any college course! Certificate of Completion provided at the end of the course. 
• Volunteer to help with our database.
  We're always ready and willing to work with vetted volunteers to assist with our website. Students welcome!
• Create an online event, webinar, or course for your university studies.
